The visit to Lyon was swift, barely met the Fourvière Basilica (which has a very good view of the city), and we followed route to Paris.
spent a night in the Hotel Formula 1 - Lyon Chasse sur Rohne (Rue F Mistral). This chain is characterized by function almost automatically with very little personal. There are not many amenities but is quick and convenient for people who are traveling.
Paris - France, 28/08/1998
in Paris is not easy to solve the issue of accommodation. It's a good idea, as in England, have something resolved for at least the first two nights. We were lucky, and found the Hotel Lux (well, simple and central: 8 av. Corbera - Revilly - Diderot) and from there we drove in Metro the city.
The city is great, but is easily navigated using the meters ( should go buy a tourist VISIT PARIS selling to move freely for several days.) Places to visit are many and scattered (the blocks to make them seem endless walking). Involves travel by subway to train combinations, because in general there is a direct take you where you go. The night has its movement, but we must bear in mind that most of the meters fail to pass some time.
The tour began by recalling the trip to Egypt, as in the Place de la Concorde the French look a Luxor Obelisk with golden tip , the era of imperial plunder. Even at the bottom detailed the transfer process .
Then, the Arc de Triomphe (we had to pay attention to what they said leaflets and using the underground tunnel crossing because the traffic is chaotic). In the center a permanent recalling called the Unknown Soldier, and within a museum. From there very good view to take pictures on the Champs Elysee Avenue. There is another arch in Carrousel Plaza.
At the top of the Eiffel Tower (wearing a countdown to the year 2000), are the distances to cities around the world, including Montevideo (10,933 km from home). Front the tower sources of Trocadéro Square, a nice place to have a good time.
Another good recommendation is to visit the Eiffel Tower at night (about U $ S 10 for the promotion), and take photos views of the city during the day on top of the building Montparnasse.
Paris is a city to take it in stride and enjoy it. A walk along the shore of the Seine is something you enjoy. The Pont Vienna is the closest to the Eiffel Tower, and more later is the Pont Royal , and Ile de la Cité the church Sainte Chapell and its 600 m2 of windows .
The Church of Notre Dame with its Gothic towers, it is difficult to photograph because of the lack of remote. Other buildings: Santa Magdalena ( magdalenae ) Picasso Museum (Building Solé), Les Invalides and the Tomb of Napoleon . In the rapid
traveled by the Louvre museum (with details of the pyramid of glass that fits perfectly with the historic building ) gave us the luxury of watching his three most famous works: The Mona Lisa (hung too high, and after an acrylic plate, photographed by millions of tourists per second), the Victory of Samothrace (largely ignored, in a corridor that many people pass by without noticing it) and Venus Milo . It is also very nice an equestrian statue of Joan of Arc in gold, just outside the museum.
Other classic captive are: the University La Sorbonne the Sacre Coure and the Bastille Opera (built by Uruguayan Carlos Ott ) in front of Juliet's Tower .
The French have a reputation of a few friends of tourists and has some truth this. Parisians do not strive to understand other languages \u200b\u200band are always in an attitude of annoyance in the presence of visitors. There are many Moroccans, really black, everywhere. Some Africans (sons of the French colonies) wear their costumes.
try a drink at the Café de la Paix , but prices are crazy. The Esplanade
Defense is much to see. On one side are the great buildings of the new city , the modern Arche de la Defense , panoramic elevators, and incredible experience Film Dome - dome-shaped screen of 1,100 m2 of screen with 15,200 Kwts sound.
From Paris, a fast train to Prague (136 dollars), payment of a visa for the second entry to Czech Republic (U $ S 41), to begin the second part of the route : Austria, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Andorra and back to Paris.
